Sloan III is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Criminal Justice where he served as director of two graduate programs (Criminal Justice; Computer Forensics and Security Management which he co-founded) and as Interim Chair (2003-2004) and Chair (2004-2016). He also co-founded (2010-2011) served as Associate Director (2011-2013) and Director (2014-2016) of the Center for Information Assurance and Joint Forensics Research.
