Brandi Shah, MD, MPH is a board-certified family physician who specializes in adolescent health. She completed Adolescent Medicine fellowship training at Seattle Children’s/University of Washington after completing residency at Brown Alpert Medical School in Rhode Island. She is excited to have joined the provider group at UAB Student Health and Wellness. She pursues scholarly and programmatic interests related to optimizing sexual and reproductive health service delivery for adolescents and young adults. She has worked closely with colleagues in the community, family planning and law on community-oriented and advocacy-based projects and initiatives that seek to protect and improve reproductive rights and access to quality reproductive health care. She currently serves on the board of Physicians for Reproductive Health and has served on other boards dedicated to reproductive and human rights and underserved populations. Ultimately, she hopes to maintain a transdisciplinary and community presence that allows her to engage and empower young people, their families, their communities and their providers in meaningful and sustainable health promotion interventions. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, writing for pleasure and self-growth, and traveling.
