    Research Overview

  • Dr. Salas’ research interests include enteral nutrition and feeding problems in preterm infants. The focus of his current work is early establishment of full enteral feeding in extremely preterm infants to improve quantitative and qualitative outcomes of growth and reduce adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes in early childhood.
  • Teaching Overview

  • Dr. Salas teaches to medical students, residents, fellows, and new registered nurses through formal lecture series. He also supervises medical trainees and nurse practitioners during daily morning rounds. As a mentor and career advisor, he also meets frequently with students, residents, and fellows to provide guidance and/or counseling.
