• Dr. Yemelyanova’s primary area of diagnostic focus in Gynecologic Pathology stems from fellowship training and subsequent service as faculty at the Johns Hopkins University. During that time, I have been exposed to a wide range of pathologic entities ranging in complexity from bread-and-butter routine gynecologic clinic samples to complex multi-part gynecologic oncology service cases and diagnostically challenging consults. Recognizing the growing role of molecular diagnostics in the era of personalized medicine, I pursued formal training in Molecular Genetic Pathology. This experience allowed me to add molecular pathology to the repertoire of my clinical skills and enhanced my research. My research interests are primarily focused on HPV-related lesions of gynecologic tract; a particular interest is the biomarkers of HPV-related cancer precursors. Other areas of interest include development of diagnostic markers of endometrial carcinoma.
